Lifebit is offering travel grants, of up to £500, to Masters, PhD and post-doc level bioinformaticians to attend a conference and present their work.

Share the results page of your completed job on Twitter using the hashtag #LifebitTravelGrant and tagging @lifebitAI

If using your own data as an input for the job, please ensure the data is non-confidential and you are happy for it to be publicly shared before posting on Twitter.

One travel grant, of up to £500, will be awarded on a quarterly basis. To be in with a shot for this season's grant make sure to submit your application before September 16th, 2019.

Terms and Conditions:

Travel grants will be awarded to support attendance to any scientific conference in 2019 as named in your application.

Applications must be submitted to Lifebit via the online submission form before August 31st 2019 to be eligible for consideration by Lifebit.

If an applicant has received a travel grant from Lifebit, they are no longer eligible for any future grants.

Masters students, PhD students and post-docs from academic or non-profit institutions are eligible to apply.

Travel grants will not be awarded to employees of for-profit organizations (i.e. biotech or pharmacological companies).

Authorship on an abstract at the selected meeting is not required for eligibility.

Applicants must complete the application form and requirements in full.

The awardee will be contacted by email and also announced online via social media.

Travel grants will be paid to the laboratory of the award recipient's principal investigator (PI) via the parent university or institution. If paid directly to the PI of the lab, taxes may apply.

In the event that you are no longer able to attend the conference - you may be required to return the grant to Lifebit.

Proof of attendance (travel receipt, hotel confirmation and conference booking) will be required prior to travel grant payment.

Travel grants are awarded at the sole discretion of Lifebit & can be withdrawn without notice and without liability.

Travel grants awardees will be determined by Lifebit based on:

  • The applicant’s contribution at the conference.
  • The quality and interest of the science.
  • The quality and interest of the conference.
  • The distance of the conference from the applicant's laboratory.
