  • Dr. Maria Dunford, CEO of Lifebit, accompanies the Greek Prime Minister on a state visit to India, aims to enhance strategic partnerships.

  • Facilitated by Enterprise Greece and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the mission aimed to forge business alliances in technology and pharmaceuticals, fostering collaboration between Greece and India, with a focus on advancing precision medicine and biotech ecosystems.

 

Dr. Maria Dunford, CEO of Lifebit, has been selected as one of 10 Greek tech entrepreneurs to accompany the Prime Minister of Greece, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on a landmark state visit to India in February.

Facilitated by Enterprise Greece and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Greece, this diplomatic mission underscores the commitment of both nations to fortify their strategic partnerships, building on the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Greece in 2023.

The purpose of the visit aimed to develop business partnerships in selected sectors, including in technology and the pharmaceutical industry, and to explore opportunities for synergies and collaborations in trade and business. 

 

Dr. Maria Dunford, Lifebit's CEO, expressed her enthusiasm about the visit, stating: 

"It is a privilege to be invited to join this important visit to represent the European technology sector in India. Given Lifebit’s multi-year expertise and our pioneering work with major governments around the world, engagement with the Indian government enables us to discuss how we can help them bring precision medicine to life and facilitate a growing biotech ecosystem in the region.”

Taking place from February 19th to 24th, the delegation included Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for Economic Diplomacy and External Affairs, Mr Konstantinos Fragogiannis.

This diplomatic endeavor signifies a significant step towards strengthening the ties between Greece and India, fostering a foundation for mutually beneficial partnerships. Lifebit remains committed to contributing to the advancement of global collaboration and knowledge exchange in the fields of genomics and precision medicine.
