Why airlocks exist
The hardest problem in secure research is not keeping intruders out — it is letting legitimate results out without letting sensitive data leak with them. An airlock solves this by making export a governed event: requested outputs are held, checked (automatically and, where needed, by a human reviewer) against disclosure rules, and only then released. Every decision is logged.
